Making functional
features visually attractive
There is an existing
right of way which crosses the new drive to access the top road via a flight of
steps. This right of way had a disproportional impact on the site layout,
drawing the eye to the vertical. The bottom left photograph demonstrates the
old effect. These steps have now been blended into the new landscape through
the use of shrubs.
Trees are used to break
up the skyline and reduce the impact of adjacent properties. We have also
positioned these in order to emphasise the original more rural nature of the
mill and recreate the woodland setting. |
