Reacting to changing circumstances

In this project, the former owners had sold part of the garden for development. This had a radical effect on the layout.

The garden had lost some of its levels and routes. We designed changes to the remaining levels in order to return a sense of balance. On the right is the old path.

The new path beside the house has a broader feel and the summerhouse has been raised to harmonise with the level of the main house.

A new lower level has been created with a changed axis running across, rather than down, the site.
