Controlling the
setting
The classical garden,
with its carefully designed clean lines and formal structure, has boundaries
that must marry up with its setting.
In this garden, note the
use made of evergreens such as Taxus baccatta hicksii and Thuja
in a tapestry hedge to provide a clean external boundary between the formal
area and its setting.
From within, framed views
have been used to good effect. Elsewhere throughout the garden, careful layout
design ensures that features within the formal garden become focal external
attractions. |
