Creativity at the
detail level
Top quality garden
designs involve very strong attention to detail. The vision for the whole can
only be achieved by working up from the way the individual features interact to
blend or contrast.
This initial planning
stage involves an extensive site survey to determine the major views, the way
the land rises and falls, the key features and how the new design must
interlock with existing plants and structures.
The design at the right
shows the steps (in green) linking the two levels and the way the ponds and
rill lock these levels together. The lower two design details show the fall
line for one part of the garden (in red) and the existing trees and shrubs (in
blue) that will form part of the new garden layout. |
